Welcome to Fifteen-2-Twelve by Evelyn Mae's BBQ, a local culinary gem nestled in the heart of Buchanan, Michigan. Located at 15212 Red Bud Trail N, this BBQ haven is not just a restaurant; it's a family-run establishment that promises a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect stop for anyone craving some soul-satisfying barbecue.
The charm of Fifteen-2-Twelve is palpable from the moment you step inside. Guests are greeted with a friendly smile from the owners, who treat every patron like family. As Halee Tittle perfectly puts it, "This place is run by an amazing local family," ensuring that each visit feels both personal and memorable.
Now let’s talk about the food—a true highlight of this establishment. The BBQ offerings here are nothing short of extraordinary. Guests rave about the sampler platter, a menu feature that serves as a perfect introduction to the rich diversity of flavors available. Todd Sanchez praised it as "some of the best BBQ I've ever had, hands down," emphasizing that each meat is prepared to absolute perfection. The meats are not just smoked; they are marinated and cooked with care, delivering bold flavors that keep customers coming back for more.
The sides are equally impressive. The collard greens are a crowd favorite, described as "awesome" by Todd, while Michael James noted the "healthy sized portion of macaroni" that bursts with flavor. Don't overlook the homemade cornbread, which adds a delightful touch to any meal and evokes the comforting essence of home-cooked meals.
The ambiance at Fifteen-2-Twelve further elevates your dining experience. Whether you choose to sit on the inviting outside patio, allowing you to share the evening with your furry friend, or settle in at the bar for some quick service, you'll find that the atmosphere complements the fantastic food beautifully. As Courtney Edberg remarked, "The drinks are always flowing, the food is homecooked," making this the perfect place to unwind.
Beyond the food and friendly service, the prices at Fifteen-2-Twelve are remarkably reasonable, offering an exceptional dining experience without breaking the bank. Chris Collins echoed this sentiment perfectly, stating that the cost of food here is comparable to fast-food prices but offers a far superior dining experience in both flavor and portions.
Overall, Fifteen-2-Twelve by Evelyn Mae’s BBQ is a must-visit for BBQ lovers and anyone looking to enjoy a meal that feels like home. With every dish, you’re invited not just to eat but also to enjoy the deep-rooted passion for barbecue that this family brings to the table. “ This place is run by an amazing local family. And we LOVE to come here for our BBQ fix! They always have amazing food, and out of the box specials as well! I could never put into words how amazing the food is! You just have to try it for yourself ”
“ Honestly, some of the best BBQ I've ever had, hands down. Got the sampler platter. To say it had "a little of everything" would be an understatement. Everything, and I mean everything, was perfect. The meats were absolutely delicious. And the sides were tremendous. The collard greens were awesome. I've had BBQ all over the USA, and fifteen-2-twelve is up there with any. We can't wait to go back. ”
“ The couple patrons at the bar were friendly to me while I took a minute to order. The owner was friendly and helpful in getting me a sampler of what was still available at the end of the night to eat. And not having to say to keep the bbq sauce on the side was a fresh surprise in the north. What I was most pleased about was the healthy sized portion of macaroni that has a very bold taste and an equally nice sized piece of cornbread made just like it was homemade. ”
“ Great place to eat. The drinks are always flowing, the food is homecooked, the meat is marinated and slowly grilled/smoked. The outside patio is a great place to sit with your dog in the evening. Service is always quick and friendly. Love going for food and leaving with new friends. ”
“ I just ordered 2 full racks of ribs and rib tips to take home for my family. Holy moly was it spot on. The house made BBQ complimented the smoked ribs perfectly. The flavors are amazing. The greens were out of this world. I highly recommend to support this local gem. The cost of the food was no different than feeding a family at McDonalds in my opinion. That’s rare with food pricing these days AND we have leftovers. Can’t wait to go back and try the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Brisket sandwhich. I read some of the bad reviews and those people are out of their minds. Guess ya can’t please everyone. I’m hooked!!! ”
“ Hidden gem!!! Stopped in for a quick bite... Food was amazing and the drinks were good!! The owner was very personable and made us feel welcome. Kid friendly and lots of great food options. Try the smoked wings!! You'll thank me!! We'll definitely go back to try more menu items. Wish we lived closer, but definitely worth the drive!! ”
“ Lockhart Texas has nothing over this place. Best barbecue in the area. Anton, owner and cook, is very personable. I will be taking family and friends here in the future. ”
“ The owner of this spot owns a successful BBQ food truck, and he got the opportunity to move into this building and open a store front as an extension of that. The menu and hours vary and they do what works best for them during that time! As a local, I always check their Facebook to see if they have any recent announcements, and anytime we drive over we always know that there is a slight chance that they may not be open. They rarely open the phone when I call and recently the owner is serving the tables and they've slimmed down their staff. It makes it hard for customers, but I admire them for not trying to be something they're not and doing what they can. and what they CAN do, is BBQ!!!!! Their BBQ kills, the habanero BBQ sauce is addictive. Their All you can eat wings are my favorite special. They have a bar with liquor, beer and wine. Definitely worth checking out if you can catch their "open" sign on or if you see their truck (Evelyn Mae's) out and about. ”
